Born and raised in Aomori, his childhood influenced by watching his grandmother make Kimekomi dolls and the traditional craftsmen around him, he developed a strong interest in ancient Japanese things that have been passed down.
Fascinated by the beauty of the curves that these Japanese dolls and crafts have, as well as the works of Aomori printmaker Shiko Munakata and ukiyo-e prints, he attempts to create an artistic expression by following those techniques.
At the same time, he focuses on the psychological healing effect of curves = roundness, and creates works that are composed of circles, the roundness of light and air that can be sensed through color.
